e made his debut at the Café Tortoni, in 1982, introduced by Arturo Penón, —former lead bandoneon of the Osvaldo Pugliese’s orchestra—, when the Buenos Aires Tango y lo demás magazine was presented. Later he was featured in the cantata porteña “Fundación del gorrión”, with music written and conducted by Carlos Massetti and poems by Héctor Negro, staged by Roberto Selles and Héctor Reitano.

From 1984 to 1988 he was member of the cast of Botica de Tango, emceed by Eduardo Bergara Leumann. He also appeared at Badía y Compañía, at Una Buena Idea, at Sábados de la Bondad and at other television shows.

His appearances were frequent at several theaters and venues of Buenos Aires: Presidente Alvear, Astral, General San Martín, Cervantes, Margarita Xirgu, Centro Cultural San Martín, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Centro Cultural de la Cooperación, Centro Cultural Jorge Luis Borges.

He also performed at the night locals: Señor Tango, Armenonville, Michelangelo, El Viejo Almacén, Los Patios de San Telmo and A Media Luz.

He was with the main orchestras and the most important leaders: Leopoldo Federico, José Colángelo, Roberto Pansera, Osvaldo Avena, Raúl Garello (Orquesta del Tango de Buenos Aires), Osvaldo Piro (Orquesta Juan de Dios Filiberto), Atilio Stampone, Oscar de Elía, Sexteto Tango, Saúl Cosentino, among others.

His discography is extensive: in 1986, La piel de Buenos Aires (cassette Almalí label); in 1990, Los tangos de Gardel; in 1993, Carlos Varela cantando a Borges; in 1996, Nuevos clásicos; in 2001, Tiempos modernos (all for the Música y Marketing label); in 2004, Sigo aquí; in 2005, Ojalá Pugliese (both for the Gld label).

Besides numerous national tours, he was in Finland, Turkey, Holland, Aruba, Panamá, Guatemala, North America and in almost all the neighboring countries.

He was record producer for various artists, among them: Rubén Juárez, Saúl Cosentino, Gabriel Reynal, Guillermo Galvé and Reynaldo Martín.
